Testing and Payments
Are tests covered by insurance?
Unfortunately, most functional testing is not covered by insurance. However there are some that are/ partly are. We can discuss those options and see which would be a better fit for you. You can use your FSA account for most testing.
How does test ordering work?
On our website, click HTMA testing. Once we get confirmation and payment is received, I will send the testing kit to your home. You will find the next steps listed in your follow up email.
Why do an HTMA test when I can test my blood?
Although testing your blood is a great way to look at your body's functions, it only looks at a moment's time. When our minerals aren't able to permeate in and out of our cells or they are unavailable to go through our body, then they deposit in soft tissue.
Can I make payment plans?
Yes! I know by now you probably have been to numerous doctors to find a solution to your illness. I will help you come up with a plan that feels most comfortable for you.
What is Functional Health?
How can you help me?
Through my signature Take Out The T.R.A.S.H program, you will identify possible root causes that could be contributing to your anxiety, fatigue or health issues. This will give you the tools to start your journey to feel balanced, less overwhelmed and have more energy.
How long will it take for me to feel better?
Everyone’s bioindividuality responds different and it also depends on the level of commitment you are willing to give. For most, it could take a minimum of 30-60 days and for some with more inflammation or compromised immune system it could take even up to 6 months or longer
Do you prescribe medication?
No, we aren’t doctors and therefore do not diagnose or treat disease. We do, however, give you a letter to give to your doctor with the finding in your labs for more of a conventional approach. Should you decide to go a more holistic approach, I can suggest supplements that help support your immune system, digestion, detoxification, hormones and neural health.

How much of my hair do I have to cut?
You will receive a paper scale in your testing kit, which will help you determine when you are done. I suggest taking pieces from the root from different places on your head. It is equivalent to about 1 teaspoon of hair. Don't worry... it may seem like a lot, but that scale will slightly tip before you know it!
What if my hair is thin or I don't have enough hair on my head?
Remember, we are trying to find the 'root cause' (no pun intended :) to why you are feeling the way you do. If you hair is thin, we can be creative and find a way to get some of the hair. Unfortunately, it does need to come from the root and not from your brush, but I can help figure out the best place for you to cut.
What if I have a diagnosis from a doctor but I am looking for help following a meal plan?
We are not dietitians or nutritionists but will be able to help you with food plans put together from some of the most reputable chefs and AIP practitioners. This is a DIY program but it is definately chock full of information to help you understand how following your blood type diet, along with foods rich in minerals, will help you on your road to recovery.
